Research study in education for Ontario AS Families

Dear Families,

Karen Congram is a graduate student in the Faculty of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is conducting a study to examine the barriers to full participation and learning for students with complex communication needs in Ontario public schools from the point of view of their parents. She is looking for parents of school-aged children who are willing to participate in two virtual, 60-minute interviews, one month apart. Interviews are likely to take place in September and October, 2023.

• Are you interested in participating in research about education for students who cannot rely on speech to be heard and understood?

• Are you the parent of a child with Rett syndrome or Angelman syndrome who attends a public school in Ontario?

• Are you willing to talk about your experiences related to your child’s education?

If you are interested in participating, please see this link for further details. Please contact Karen at litt1120@mylaurier.ca should you wish to participate.

Warmly,

Karen Congram
